Positive affirmations are positive statements repeated consistently to yourself. Repeating these statements over a period of time will create a positive subconscious thought. In turn, these positive subconscious thought will create a positive subconscious mind. Your mind controls every aspect of your life. Affirmations are statements that describe a goal in its already completed state. Affirmations are powerful tools for attaining success in life. Most especially when it starts with the phrase “I am”. Joel Osteen said whatsoever follows ‘I am’ will always come looking for you.
It is not enough to have positive affirmations you must be disciplined enough to follow it through. Jim Rohn said, affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion. When you have a mental picture of your desired future, convert it into a statement. Write it out in a 3” x 5” card, record it as an audio, paste it on your fridge, on your ceiling, put it in your pocket wherever you go, read it and listen to it all the time. Dedicate at least 10 -15 minutes of the day reflecting on it.
If you repeat this action for the next 28 days it will definitely become habitual and you won’t struggle declaring it each day. What you say to yourself, either positive or negative will definitely create some certain forms of energy around you. This energy will reflect on your actions which afterward determine your experience. Don’t be vague in your affirmations, say it in present tense. For instance, I am going to get a 5,000 acre of land in Malibu, California is wrong. Instead, I am enjoying living in my new 5,000 acre of land in Malibu, California. When you make your affirmations futuristic you tend to look forward for a day to come not realizing that the future is no longer a distant prospect, we live in it daily.
Florence Scovell Shian once said, you will be a failure, until you impress the subconscious with the conviction you are a success. This is done by making an affirmation that ‘clicks’. You need to always feed your subconscious mind with positive energy through positive statements. Jack Canfield once explained how he uses the power of affirmation, making the jump from earning $25,000 a year to making $100,000 or more. The first thing I did was to craft an affirmation after one I’d seen by Florence Scorell Shian, my affirmation was: God is my infinite supply and large sums of money come to me quickly and easily under the grace of God for the highest good of all concerned. I am happily and easily earning, saving and investing $100,000 a year.
Jack Continued, next, i created a huge replica of a $100,000 bill, which I affixed to the ceiling above my bed. On awakening, i would see the bill, close my eyes, repeat my affirmation, and visualize what I would be enjoying if i were living a $100,000 a year lifestyle. I envisioned the house i would live in. Soon i awoke one morning with my first $100,000 idea.
Affirmation can be used for just about anything. But the trick to making them work is how they make you feel. You should actually feel different when or after saying an affirmation. For most, they just have inner talk that cancels out the good affirmation. Ever have this self talk? Your ego often says “that is not true” when you say “I am wealthy” or “I am lean and muscular”.
Your ego likes to argue with you, disagree with you. This is when you need to control your mind and your ego. You have total control. You control your thinking and not the other way round. Now, the key is to feel the feelings of your affirmation as if they have already happened. So if you are affirming “I am rich” you need to feel rich when you say the affirmation. Play the part.
Know this, words by themselves have no power. Just repeating words that do not invoke a change of feeling for the better are a waste of your time. Pick words and feeling that make you buzz with excitement and really feel the feelings of having, being what you are affirming.
