What you hear only informs you, it is what you see that transforms you. Albert Einstein once said imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions. In the words of Helen Keller she said the greatest challenge of men is to have eyes without sight. You can’t go farther than what you have seen. Your sight is always your size. Visualizing tomorrow today is one of the best ways I know of bringing tomorrow closer.

There is power in visualizing, look at yourself 5 - 10 years from now, what do you see and who do you see? Paint a picture of that image around you. Look at your bank statement, what’s the final credit balance, how do you want it to be in the next five years? Write it out and paste it where you can see it everyday. Create a vision board where you can write and paste anything that you really want out of life. When you come across your dream home, wristwatches, or car in a magazine, cut it out and paste it on your vision board.

A couple of years ago, I wrote a cheque to myself, the amount I want and when I wanted it. I signed it and use it as my wallpaper; I pasted it on my wall and beside my bed. After a year and three months I received a check which was about 30% more of what I have written for myself. While going through my archive couple of months ago, I saw the old check i once wrote to myself i was so shocked.

I said to myself, if this principle works for x amount, definitely it can work for y amount. I got another cheque and did the same and keep it within my proximity. Visualize what you want to become in life, paint a picture of it or sketch it out. Use Photoshop application to design it if you can. The where and how would unfold as you keep the big picture in front of you.

Nobody gets anywhere carelessly in life. If where you are doesn’t look like where you ought to be, keep the bigger picture still, someday you will get there. The timing might not be accurate as you planned it, it might come sooner than you think and it might come later than you think. However, if you hang on long – enough and you don’t allow the naysayers to debate you out of it you will surely get there.

Set aside time each and everyday to visualize every one of your goals as already complete. Azim Jamal, a prominent speaker in Canada recommends what he calls “the Hour of Power” – 20 minutes of visualization and meditation, 20 minutes of exercise, and 20 minutes of reading inspirational or motivational books. Imagine what would happen to your life if you did this every day.

Whatsoever is too big for a man’s mind to conceive is too big for his hand to receive. If your mind can be open enough to accommodate the expanse of your dream, and you give it all it takes without mediocrity, you work hard without letting go of the bigger picture, then surely, you will definitely get it.

We all deserve to have everything we want in life, but it’s always a question of if we can see it for ourselves. Nobody can dream big for you and nobody can think big for you. It is your responsibility.
